Shifting winds, shifitng planet and the creatures that inhabit our bluff are dancing to the shifts!
First, the snails. Snails adore fruit trees and specifically citrus fruit trees. Their passion for such, hovers on addiction as they invade, gobble and no matter what traditional means of stopping them, tis of no use…they are fruit tree monsters and destroy whatever is in their path. Hence, the trees are now wrapped with synthetic white wrappingas, as the natural route was of no use. NOW they have decided that my nest looks like a fun alternative. Hah…and so I have a wand-like snail bopper…sorry snails…come back as something bigger and sweeter next time.
Then we have Oscar the Frog…who happily lives under my house and used to sing all night, as frogs tend to be nocturnal, but now, perhaps the misty days feel like non days to him, he sings all day AND all night. As funny and adorable as this is, I wonder how he does it! And I’m grateful. Frog Medicine is for Cleansing. His singing helps cleanse away any angst that might be having its way with me as the writers’ strike is in full bloom and therefore zero income for me.
Then we have our coyote visitations…the tricksters…and yes, EXACTLY.
The nectarine tree has fabulusly rotund semi juicy fruit…almost ripe.
The fig tree has brand new baby figlets.
And s-o-me-t-h-i-n-g has been visitng both in the night and partaking. The general concensus was that raccoons were having a hay day. I was concerned that raccon banishing action was on the horizon, but then, clues.
Every single morning, upon opening my door, a little pile of coyote poop has been greeting me on my doorstep. Hmmmm. Thank you, I guess….
And then DONK….there at the base of the nectarine and fig trees half eaten, a PICNIC of fruits…EVERY MORNING.
Earth to Me.
We now have vegetarian coyotes in our hood! Mid night feasters! With Oscar singing away! And I have no doubt, the snails in the vibe of it all!
