After a long day, and feeling uncharacteristically totally exhausted…climbing into bed at 9:00..and I decided to turn on the news for a moment…and FIRES in Georgia lit up my screen.
We humans all experience different types of trauma throughout our lives, and some of these live in our cells forever…requiring us to deal with and ideally make friends with the feelings that accompany….we can and we do…but the moment of impact is not easy.
Watching these images, of homes in ashes and the families in shock, happening live at this very moment, bring tears to my heart. It’s been almost 15 months for us…the Palisade and Eaton fire people…and 15 months from now…. these families will have navigated a multitude of feelings and logistical thises and thats….and they will make it.
But right now? Let’s send them prayers.
