December 21, 2024—The Solstice—-Malibu
One week and one day ago PCH was opened and those evacuated for the Franklin Fire were allowed to return home. Various degrees of trauma having been lived, today’s solstice brings cool, calm, soul knowing in ‘let the darkness come, breathe in its gifts, and then…then…light and living and seeing.’
A few days ago, vibrationally ‘off’ personally, a phone call came through from Madison, Wisconsin asking if I was available to help with the immediate grief of the community, as a result of the school shooting.’ I have never ever said ‘no ‘to such calls but I did, and then I had to sit with the reverberation of feelings that pulmelled me as a result.
Trauma shatters. No matter how deep or seemingly minute, trauma shatters. We maneuver our lives with order and disorder, the balance of which is unique, but trauma thrusts all into disorder. Words hold the disorder. They do not change the order or disorder but they hold it. As words can and do re-stabilize this is what we can offer to those in the throws of crisis. Words. I hastend my personal recovery so that I could answer accordingly with a ‘yes’, because in case you have not noticed, I LOVE WORDS.
Bless you all on this solstice! Let the darkness serve you well.
